I have always loved making things happen, and have been lucky enough to be involved in a huge range of projects where I’ve been able to do just that.
From growing accounts, designing shopping trolleys and delivering new production systems, to producing websites and TV titles, I have built and delivered for many clients and platforms.
No stranger to start-ups, I’ve lived through rapid growth and the pains that can come with success, I have also handled blue-chip organisations where understanding processes and corporate expectations are key.
Having really enjoyed my time at Sugarway, getting things running smoothly and working on some amazing projects, I'm now keen to find a home in a larger creative organisation.
Somewhere that needs a team member who understands the creative process and technology, has experience of running a business and honing operational systems. Somewhere that has ambitions and is keen to grow that little bit more.
If you think I could be the missing piece of the puzzle, I'd love to talk about working together.
Sugarway is a lightweight organisation that deliver heavyweight motion graphics, titles and corporate films for clients including; Mclaren F1, Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, Tesco, Channel 4, BBC, HSBC, IMG, World Television, Playtech, Roche and Manchester Utd.
I've helped develop Sugarway's award winning model of lean overheads and tight project control, combining rigorous operations with Louisa Fitch's exceptional creativity and eye for quality, this has resulted in amazing work for demanding customers, delivered on tight deadlines and budgets.
Managing a roster of animators and designers located in the UK and USA, I've enabled Sugarway's creative minds to consistently delivered exceptional films, animations, games, apps and web projects on time and on budget.
ENSAS are an S.M.E. specialising in the the supply, recycling and maintenance of GNFR (goods not for resale) equipment for the major retail chains in UK and Europe, providing its customers with a consolidated, digitised system for the supply of services and GNFR.
Worked in various areas during a period of rapid growth and expansion (100k to £9m+ turnover)
At ENSAS I lead a team designing a range of innovative shopping trolleys for Asda. We over delivered on the brief to reduce the whole life cost, with a 30% reduction in purchase cost and 20% on maintenance.
Asda then asked us to look at reducing the cost of their entire shopping trolley operation, from 'cradle to grave'. We created and successfully introduced a computerised, total fleet management programme. Integrating planning, recycling, maintenance and buying into a holistic system. Our biggest innovation was taking the usually scrapped, old, rusty equipment into our custom built plant and recycling it look and function good as new. We delivered over £300k of savings to Asda on a like for like basis in the first year, and constantly improved and honed our system.
After the success at Asda my team ended up doing this for many of the big UK supermarkets, including Tesco, Morrisons, Kwiksave and Waitrose (plus a few smaller ones in Europe). As M.D. I diversified the product range from over reliance on a narrow product list, sold to a limited UK grocery retailer customer base, to a multi-product / service proposition across several major retailers throughout Europe.
Developed strong relationships at all levels with key accounts (£1m T/O+) and establishing ENSAS as preferred supplier for retailers including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose, Pets at Home, Focus, Boots, Kwiksave, Pound Stretcher and B&Q.
In partnership with Rolls Royce Derby, implemented lean manufacturing processes and professional development programmes from shop floor to administration;
St Luke’s Special Shool, Dorcan Tech. College, Highworth Warneford,
St Johns Marlborough & Ridgeway School.
2009 - 2013
Whilst at Sugarway I have devoted at least 1 day a week to teaching at various high schools in Swindon and surrounding areas. There I have taught a range of subjects in Design and Technology, to 12-18 year old students, also provided career mentoring and advice in the creative and engineering fields.
Although there was no financial incentive, I kept at it for several years, and enjoyed the feeling of giving something back, in particular I found working with the students at St. Luke’s, with their behavioural difficulties and challenging backgrounds, rewarding and inspiring.
